‘Laimer’ praises ‘Olisé’s’ solo goal as ‘like a video game’

Bayern Munich’s versatile playmaker Konrad Laimer has described Michel Olise’s late solo goal against Shakhtar Donetsk, with the Austrian likening the moment to a video game.

After being outmaneuvered in the first five minutes, the Bavarians went all out and scored five goals, highlighted by Olise’s final goal, which saw him dribble past five defenders.

Collecting the ball midway into Shakhtar’s half, Olise moved nimbly through the clusters of orange-shirted players into the box. 

Olise received the ball 45 yards out, with two defenders marking him, and made a tough play, out-fouling Shakhtar’s defenders before pulling the strings and sending goalkeeper Dmytro Riznik to the ground before scoring his second of the game.

After the game, Bayern team-mate Laimer could not help but praise Olise’s performance.

“It felt like he could dribble past 10 players,” Laimer said.

“It was like Mario Kart. When you get the stars, no one can touch him.”
